Robot

In Paint

With an artwork open, Robot reads it as pixels and as pictures, and changes it through the editor's own actions: "a 16-colour palette for a desert at dusk", "draw a small cactus on the ground layer", "make the title text larger and centre it".

AreaFor example
------
PixelsPaint on a pixel layer; add, rename, hide and delete layers
PaletteAdd and change swatches, and how far past white they glow in HDR; composite swatches of inks on halftone screens (CMYK, newsprint, Ben-Day, duotone) and the screens themselves
Shapes and textRead, draw, move and resize shapes, with their fills (gradients, patterns, dithering) and strokes, and combine them into booleans; write text and set its font, size, alignment and wrap
ItemsRename, reorder, group, hide and delete any item, set its opacity, and say where things landed
EffectsThe artwork's visual effects and a frame's or artboard's own; effects on layers, shapes and text (Stroke, Feather, Drop shadow, Thickness), their depth, and the lights that cast shadows
EmbedsEmbed a composition or add it as sound only, and set how it shows and sounds: its window on the notes, whether it moves with the music, its background, volume and silences; an audio file's volume
ProgramsEmbed a program, set an embed's parameters and what fills its sources, its length and whether it's prerendered; with a program open in its Program window, read and write its code, change its settings, try values and look at its frames
TimelineMake sprites from artboards or frames; the timeline's frame rate, length and loop; where each sprite, program, composition or sound starts, how many times it plays and whether it's muted; frames with timelines of their own
ExportingSet up any item's export settings and the export collection; export them, add renders to the Render queue, and start, pause, cancel or duplicate them there
ReferencesSearch the web and open collections for pictures, and lay them out on the canvas as a moodboard, each linked to its source
The benchShow you items or a region on the canvas, read the undo history, save a version before a large change

Pictures from the web load through Pteropixel's servers, so Robot can find and show them only when you're signed in. Linked references stay out of exports. Asked to keep a copy of a picture, Robot saves it among the artwork's files, with a note of where it came from.

Not supported yet: drawing a sprite's frames from scratch (Robot paints into artboards and frames that are already there), a frame's own duration, and the artwork's visual effects.
