Robot
In the Font Editor
With a font open, Robot reads its glyphs as grids of pixels on the font's metric lines, and looks at text set in the font to judge spacing and rhythm: "draw a lowercase g that matches the o", "tighten the spacing of the capitals", "kern AV and To".
| Area | For example |
| --- | --- |
| Glyphs | Draw and redraw glyphs, move or flip their pixels, set their advance; variants and layers |
| Spacing | Kerning, auto-kerning pairs, placement between pairs, letter spacing |
| Structure | Metrics, the name, description and info (website, copyright, licence, version), components, width variants, contextual sequences, guide grids |
| Han | Read reference drawings of a character, and build one from the font's components |
| Checking | Coverage of each charset, and which characters are drawn or empty |
| The bench | Open a glyph or a specimen to show you, save a version before a large change, export the font |
Asked for ideas for a glyph, Robot shows designs in the chat beside the glyph as it is; press Use this on the one you want.
