Robot

Ideas to try out

Ask Robot for ideas (a melody, a drum pattern, a progression, "what chord could come next") and it shows them in the chat to listen to first, rather than writing them into the piece.

Drag an idea's notes onto the canvas to place it: it lands on the snap grid with the beat you grabbed under the pointer, and Robot is told where it went.

Asked to change a passage, Robot proposes instead: play the passage on the canvas, play the proposals in the chat, and press Use this on the one you want. It replaces the passage's notes in the parts the proposal writes into. The piece's other parts come with the proposal, faint, and play with it; they are never written. With Context off, the proposal is shown and played alone, without the bars only the other parts filled.

A proposal plays, and is drawn, as the active interpretation plays that passage: its tempo there, its rules, ornaments and pedal, through the piece's own instruments, effects and mixer. So does a change card's Before and After. Each is kept with the chat as it sounded then, so later changes to the piece don't change it. A note written in the same part and on the same beat as one it replaces keeps that note's interpretation (its timing, length and velocity rules, and its groups), whether it comes from Use this or from Robot rewriting the passage itself. A replaced note's ornament goes with it.

Chord suggestions come from the harmony library (its named moves, and the corpus where this machine has it), chosen to suit the piece.
