Modules and bundles
The Font Editor has two kinds of document.
A font module is where you draw. It covers one or more scripts: Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, music notation, or Han, which includes the characters written in Chinese, Japanese and Korean. It contains their characters, kerning, ligatures and components. Not supported yet: Arabic, Hebrew and Devanagari.
A font bundle is what you release. It puts several modules together into one family, such as a Latin module and a Han module, and has export settings of its own.
Modules and bundles each have a tab on the Fonts page.
Font setup
Font setup contains what belongs to the module as a whole: its name, version, copyright and licence, its metrics, its weights and widths, and its OpenType features. At the bottom, Record shows when the module was created and last updated, its version and its id.
Characters and glyphs
A character is a Unicode character, such as A or 永. A glyph is a drawing of one. A character can have several glyphs, its variants.
The Characters panel lists characters by charset. There's a tab for each script, and for Han a tab for each region's standard, such as Big5 for Traditional Chinese or GB 2312 for Simplified. Search by character or, for Han, by pinyin. A region's standard is split into levels, such as Big5's first and second, and Latin and music have a Tier filter for their commoner characters. The Tags filter appears once Character tags is on in Settings > Editor. Recent lists what you've drawn lately, and Collections has themed lists: food, cities, festivals and more, each with phrases that use its characters; click a character in a phrase to open its glyph.
